This is the last piece in the Rite of Passage collection. And honestly, it's the most personal one.
While I was finishing this piece I was listening to a podcast for artists and the phrase "be about what you're about" just hit me. Because I realized how much I had been feeling stuck in a version of myself that wasn't even true to who I am. In my art and in my life.
This phase is about emergence. The moment you finally recognize yourself again. And for me, being about what I'm about means living a life that feels meaningful and making art that brings me joy and love.
The yellow center is confidence. That's what you find when you stop living for a version of yourself that was never really you.
The palette is pure warmth: blush pink that deepens into rose at the shadows, with golden champagne glowing through the ridges wherever light finds them. In a sun-filled room, she feels like the first day of something new. In candlelight, she feels like a secret.
